Our auditors, Harrington Langer & Associates, conduct an annual audit that includes checks on financial compliance, federal grant management, and verification of any equal opportunity concerns. This third-party review ensures we meet — and exceed — government and donor expectations.

☑️ Federal Desk Audits
As a recipient of federal funding, Alexandra House is subject to regular desk audits by our federal grantors. In 2024 alone, we successfully completed three desk audits, each confirming our strict compliance with regulations such as the Uniform Guidance. These audits involve a detailed review of our financial records to ensure that every federal dollar is properly accounted for and directly supports services for survivors.

Each year, all Board Members, Directors, and Leadership Staff review and sign a Conflict of Interest statement, ensuring that personal interests never cloud organizational decisions. Our Board Chair and Executive Director personally review all disclosures.

Alexandra House benchmarks salaries through bi-annual Minnesota Council of Nonprofits surveys and conducts peer reviews bi-annually to ensure leadership and staff compensation is fair and justified.
