COVID-19 AND Support groups
Alexandra House is offering virtual support groups to survivors of domestic, sexual, and relationship violence, as well as elder abuse. Virtual support groups will be an opportunity to connect and share personal experiences and feelings, discuss coping strategies, and find comfort and support from others. Support groups will be available via secure Zoom video calls and will be led by trained support group facilitators. Preregistration is required for all groups.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the Support Group Interest Form. A staff member from Alexandra House will be reaching out to you by phone within 3 business days to explain groups in more detail and to formally register you. All of our services are safe, confidential, and free. Groups are accessible on a computer, tablet, or mobile phone. All services are free and confidential. At this time, we will be offering three groups:
SEXUAL VIOLENCE VIRTUAL SUPPORT GROUP
Tuesdays: 6:30 – 8:00 PM (begins June 2, 2022)
The Sexual Violence group is a closed group for sexual violence and/or abuse survivors. The group aims to contribute to your healing by being a place where you can receive information, find support, and share your experiences of sexual assault/abuse. The 8-week group is topic-based and includes education on SV 101, how to deal with your anger, trauma triggers, regaining power, boundaries, compassion/self-care, coping, hope, and resiliency. The group is open to all genders and people 16 or older. Members are encouraged to attend all sessions. Sexual Violence Survivor Group Flyer
ON OUR WAY – FOR WOMEN 50+
Thursdays: 10:00 – 11:30 AM
This weekly support group is for adult women (50+) who are survivors of abuse. The group will reflect on life experiences, increase feelings of self-worth, and build on personal strengths.

SUPPORT & HEALING GROUP FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Thursdays: 6:30 – 8:00 PM
This weekly support group is for adult women who have experienced domestic abuse and are ready to explore their personal healing process and find hope.
