One
out of every three women will experience domestic violence during
her lifetime.
Alexandra House recognizes that domestic violence, if left unstopped,
is cyclical; children learn and identify with their caregivers
and when raised in violent homes, have a greater chance of growing
up to be victims of domestic violence, or abusers. By assisting
women and children to leave their violence-filled lives, children
have a greater opportunity to develop into healthy, productive,
violence-free adults.
Our services are more than just providing a bed, food and security.
We help families rebuild lives devastated by domestic violence.
We provide community education and training for professionals in
law enforcement, health care, schools, the faith community and
more.
