- Domestic violence affects one in three women.
- Last year in Minnesota, nearly 70,000 victims received services from domestic violence agencies
- About 76% of women killed by their current or former partners were stalked before their murder. 67% were also physically abused in the year before their murder.
- Studies show that 50% of men who frequently assault their wives also frequently assault their children. Children who witness or are victims of domestic violence suffer long-term effects, including depression, anxiety, and violence against peers
- About one in five high school girls has been physically or sexually abused by a dating partner
- Nearly one third of homeless women in MN are homeless at least in part because of domestic abuse, and 69% of homeless women have children under age 18
