Connie
Moore, Executive Director, began her
career advocating for victims of domestic violence 24 years ago
as a volunteer with a battered women’s shelter. She came to
Alexandra House in 1988 as a women’s advocate, and in that same
year moved into the position of Intervention Program Coordinator.
In 1994 she became the Community Programs Director. In
1998 Connie left Alexandra House and became the Executive
Director at Project SOAR, a Displaced Homemaker Program located
in Duluth, MN. She returned to Alexandra House in June 2001 as
the Executive Director. Throughout her career, Connie has been
a member of several county, state and national initiatives where
she provided leadership in creating public policies that address
the needs of victims of domestic violence, low-income families
and displaced homemakers. Connie serves on the Board of
Directors of the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women.
Margaret
Andersen, Administrative Director, has
more than twenty years experience in human resources and office
administration. The majority of her career was spent in the
financial services industry working in various financial
institutions as a branch manager, licensed life insurance agent
and Series 6/63 securities broker. She came to Alexandra House,
Inc. in June 2001.
Jenny
Green, Shelter Director, began her
work with Alexandra House in 1991 after graduating with a
bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of
Minnesota. Initially a family advocate, she worked primarily
with the children residing in our shelter, addressing the
violence that had been a part of their lives. Because of her
devotion to the women and children we serve, Jenny later
advanced to the position of Residential Programs Coordinator and
now, in her current role as Shelter Director, oversees all
shelter services and programming provided to our residents.
Jenny also serves as co-chair of the Day One Leadership Task
Force, which works to streamline battered women’s shelter
services in the state of Minnesota.
Sue
Redmond, Community Program Director,
has more than 15 years experience working with battered women and
their children. A graduate of the College of St. Catherine with
a bachelor's degree in social work, she has advocated on behalf
of women and children in a variety of settings, including
shelter, court, and medical settings. She works closely with the
Office of the Anoka County Attorney, local attorneys, and the
courts to direct the OFP Project at Alexandra House. She serves
on numerous committees and councils locally and state-wide
including the Anoka County Domestic Violence Council, Anoka
County Domestic Violence Justice Committee, Order for Protection
Project Advisory Committee, and the Minnesota Crime Victim
Assistance Academy Steering Committee.
